An overhaul is the major repair of an engine: it is fully disassembled, every component is inspected and measured, anything out of tolerance is replaced and it is reassembled to restore its performance and reliability. At GDA Group we overhaul industrial diesel and gas engines through GDA Industry Solutions.

What does the overhaul include?
Diagnosis and operating history
We review operating hours, maintenance history and symptoms (power loss, oil consumption, smoke, vibration) to define the scope of work.
Disassembly and inspection
We disassemble the engine and clean its components to inspect the block, cylinder heads, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, liners and bearings.
Metrology and component replacement
We measure clearances and wear against the manufacturer’s tolerances and replace the components that require it with original-quality parts.
On-site liner honing
With portable Chris-Marine equipment we deglaze cylinder liners without disassembling the engine, which reduces downtime and helps rings and pistons seat correctly.
Assembly and commissioning
We assemble the engine with the specified torques and settings, verify its operation and deliver a technical report of the work done.
